Jessie Lee Wright, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior while at home with her family by her side on March 27, 2026. She was born on August 5, 1942 to the late Walter and Edith Raby, in Sweetwater, Tennessee.
Jessie was a beautician for over 30 years. She loved her family, and spending time with people. She was said to have a contagious smile. Jessie loved to listen to music, especially Chris Stapleton, and dance. She also enjoyed rides through the mountains, eating Reese's Cup Candy, and drinking Dr. Pepper. Jessie battled with dementia for over 15 years, but never let that take her beautiful smile. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Remember Me Senior Care for the care and love they showed Jessie for the last 4 years, especially her "Special Friends", Ashleigh Martin, and Kaitlyn Johnson.
In addition to her parents, Jessie is preceded in death by her spouse, Steve Wright, and her siblings, JR Raby, Willard Raby, Gladys Gable, Elva Baker, and Elsie Mae Clower.
Jessie is survived by her daughters, Verrena (Jimmy) Gentry, Sandy (Ronnie) Haney, grandchildren, Shawn (Leah) Ownby, Chad (Cristy) Ownby, Kammi (Aaron) Dillard, Christian Peek, Sunshine Reynolds, 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel, with Reverend Glenn Clower officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Cedar Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, in Sweetwater, Tennessee.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Jessie, or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
