Jerry Lereese Crangle

Jerry Lereese Crangle, age 90, passed away peacefully in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on August 30, 2026. Jerry was born on January 9, 1936, in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, to Howard and Belle (Stallings) Crangle. Jerry was a farmer, receiving the most distinguished Young Farmers award, and a real estate agent for most of his life. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, pawpaw, and a proud United States Army veteran.

During his service in the U.S. Army, Jerry distinguished himself as a skilled sharpshooter and earned a Good Conduct discharge, reflecting his exemplary character, dedication, and high standard of service to his country.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Cornelia Jane (Kirksey) Crangle; his daughters, Lereesea van Zyl (Nicolaas) and Tonya Whitmill (Dallas); and his five beloved grandchildren, Erin Miheascu (Daniel), Ryan van Zyl (Litzy), Lauren van Zyl, Nathaniel Whitmill, and Jonathan Whitmill.

He was laid to rest at The Chattanooga National Cemetery on October 2, 2026. Jerry's legacy of patriotism, integrity, and unwavering devotion to his family will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
