Jerry Back

Jerry Leon Back, 79, of Cleveland, TN passed away on June 25, 2025. He was born on December 11, 1945 to the late Curtis Jones and Bernice Weathers Back.

Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, spending time outside, and loved making everyone laugh. He had a great sense of humor. Jerry was also very active and spent a lot of his time playing tennis and walked up to 3 miles most days. Above all, he loved God and his family dearly.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his stepmother Kay Jones; father and mother in law, William and Pauline James and Burt Patterson; and his siblings, Steve and Patricia; and uncle Ed French.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patsy Elizabeth Back; sister Lynn Rollins; children: Sandy Vallejos (Alex), Theresa Back Massengale, Jeff Back, and Larry Back; grandchildren: Zachary, Halye, Abby, and Kyler; great grandchildren: Kai, Aubrey, and Peyton. He also leaves behind a very special niece Sara and great-nephew R.J. In addition to these he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.

A celebration of Jerry's life is being held at 4pm on Saturday July 12th at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. Visitation will be held from 2pm until the 4pm service.
