Jennifer Darlene King

Jennifer Darlene King, 67, passed away on April 3, 2026, in Chattanooga, TN. She was born on October 9, 1958 in Sweetwater, TN, to Avery West and Barbara Burnett West.

Jennifer graduated from Rossville High School in 1976 and went on to earn a master degree/summa cum laude from Austin Peay College. She started her career as a Special Education Teacher. Jennifer served in the United States Army. She loved playing the piano, baton, reading, dance skating, teaching, dogs, and being a mother and grandmother.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her father Avery L. West, Sr.

Survived by her sons, Daniel King , of Soddy Daisy, TN and Ben King, of Clarksville, TN; mother, Barbara Burnett , of La Fayette, GA; brothers, Avery L. West, Jr. and Brian Keith West; 3 grand-children and a niece.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, 2:00 PM, at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404 with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jennifer's name at Lafayette High School for a Special Education Fund.
