Jeffrey Paul "Jeff" Williams, age 42, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from injuries sustained in a tragic pedestrian accident on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Jeff was a beloved son, father, brother, grandson, and friend whose life, though not always easy, was filled with love.

From an early age, Jeff was a natural athlete. Quick, coordinated, and gifted in many sports, he especially enjoyed baseball, bowling and fishing. As a young boy, he had a mischievous streak and a personality all his own. He could be quiet and reserved one moment, then surprise everyone with his humor the next. Those who knew him growing up will remember his athletic abilities, his playful nature, and the smile that often followed a little mischief.

Throughout his working years, Jeff earned his living working in landscaping and construction. He knew the meaning of hard work and was never afraid to earn his living with his hands.

Jeff shared a special bond with his maternal grandfather, Julian Lamar "J.L." Kennedy, a longtime Chattanooga businessman whose family owned and operated several local businesses. J.L. and his wife, Kay, held a special place in Jeff's heart. His love and admiration for his grandfather stayed with him throughout his life, so much so that he honored him by naming his son, Julian.

Julian was Jeff's pride and joy, and their time together meant the world to him. Their favorite things to do were fish at Papaw's pond and play video games all day and night. Jeff and Julian could spend an entire day together fishing or battling each other in video games and enjoy the simple pleasure of being father and son. Those days will remain a special part of Jeff's memory and the legacy of love he leaves with his son.

Jeff's journey through life was not always an easy one. He faced personal struggles and sometimes found himself taking the harder road. Yet through life's challenges, there was always a loving heart beneath it all. He was someone who felt deeply, loved his family, and never wanted disagreements to stand in the way of that love.

Perhaps one of Jeff's most endearing qualities was his ability to remind his family what mattered most. Even after a disagreement or a difficult conversation, he would wrap his arms around his parents and simply say, "I love you, Dad. Love you, Mom." Those hugs and heartfelt words will forever be among the memories his family treasures most.

Jeff also had a desire to help others. His family knew that he would have wanted to give the gift of life through organ donation, offering others a second chance. Sadly, the severity of his injuries greatly limited that possibility. But the generosity behind that wish was another reflection of the love Jeff had in his heart and his desire to make a difference in someone else's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jeff's memory to a local blood bank or to Sleep in Heavenly Peace-South Pittsburg, supporting its Bed Build Project to provide beds for children in need. (https://shpbeds.org/chapter/tn-south-pittsburg/)

These acts of kindness honor Jeff's wish to help others and allow his spirit of love and generosity to continue touching lives.

Jeff is survived by his beloved son, Julian Oswald Williams; his father and stepmother, Paul and Sandy Williams; his mother and stepfather, Tammie and Tony Pike; his sister, Carrie; his brother, Brian; his paternal grandparents, Paul and Brenda Williams; and many extended family members and dear friends.

A Special Expression of Gratitude

The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the first responders who rushed to Jeff's aid, and the extraordinary team of doctors, surgeons, nurses, and caregivers at Erlanger Hospital. Their tireless efforts, skill, and compassion during those critical hours gave Jeff's family and friends a gift beyond measure, precious time to be by his side, surround him with love, and say their final goodbyes. Although Jeff's injuries were ultimately too severe to overcome, the family's appreciation for everyone who worked so hard to save him will remain forever in their hearts. Their dedication and kindness during the most difficult days of their lives will never be forgotten.

Remembering Jeffery

Jeff, we will miss your smile, your hugs, and hearing you say, "I love you, Dad. Love you, Mom." We love you too, son. We always have, and we always will.

Final Arrangements

Jeff will be cremated, and a small celebration of his life will be held later. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been finalized.
