Jeffery Bart Lewis

Jeffery Bart Lewis, a longtime resident of Cleveland, TN died peacefully in his sleep, from chronic medical complications, on August 3, 2017. Bart, as he was known to family and friends, was born August 25. 1960 in Athens, TN to Katherine Crye. Bart was a 1979 graduate of Cleveland High School where he enjoyed playing football. He worked for the Cleveland Fire Department and later was instrumental in assisting with the family owned business Ham & Goody’s. Bart was easy going, always had a smile on his face, and never met a stranger. He liked sports, music, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends.
He was preceded in death by his biological father Arnold Lewis, brother Timothy Lewis, niece Sara Katherine Popp, uncle Jack Campbell, and cousin Nick Campbell.
He is survived by his mother and father Phillip & Katherine Crye, sister and brother-in-law Rick & Carol Popp, niece Olivia Popp, sister-in-law Susan Lewis, nieces Alex & Savannah Lewis, aunt Rella Campbell, cousin Alan Campbell, and adopted son Shane Lewis.
Family will receive friends on Monday August 7, 2017 from 5-7pm at Companion Funeral & Cremation service. A celebration of life memorial service will take place a 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Guinn Green officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to recommend a donation to the American Diabetes Association or Ronald McDonald House.
