Jeanette DeLane Howard, 75, of Athens went to be with the Lord on September 28, 2026 at her home with her family by her side.

DeLane was an avid soccer fan, especially devoted to Liverpool. She had a special love for birds, with hummingbirds and pink flamingos being among her favorites. She enjoyed camping with her husband and making memories together at the Rod Run. Above all, DeLane cherished her family and treasured the time she spent with them, especially her beloved grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Sue Guffey; and sister, Judy Coffey.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Delane Howard; children, Tonya (Jeff) Sherman, Sonya (Jeff) Laffoon, Kevin (Shawna) Howard, and Justin (Mendy) Howard; grandchildren, Alexis (Hunter) Harris, Annie (Dalton) Hill, Colton Laffoon, Dekotah (Kaitlyn) Howard, Austin (Johnnie) Howard, Madison Howard; great grandchildren, Walker, Casen, Lane, Ayla, and soon to be Willa; sister, Crystal (Christo) Yanculeff; and many other loved family and friends.

The family will hold a private celebration of life.
