Jay L. Kyle, 48, passed away at a nearby hospital on April 23, 2026, after a long battle with diabetes and cancer. He was born to the late Bobby Kyle Sr., and Barbara Wilson Kyle on June 4, 1977 in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Jay was a 1995 graduate of Polk County High School, and resident of Benton, Tennessee. He enjoyed watching Madelynn play softball, Natalie play basketball, and Sebastian play baseball, and his wife, Missy, teach and inspire the kids in her classroom. He also loved to vacation with his family. Jay had a lifelong love of creating art, such as drawing, painting, clay sculpting, woodworking, wood carving, and wood sculpting that he learned from his Dad. He saw it as a privilege to have done several wood projects with him. Jay painted several mural-style paintings, some depicting the Bradley County Fire Rescue, Cleveland State Fitness Center, Polk County High School Football locker room,and Polk County High School Baseball Dugouts. However, his favorite was in honor of his daughter Madelynn, the softball complex at McMinn Central High School. He also enjoyed drawing cartoons of his coworkers, and playing paintball with his best friend, Lamar, for 24 years, until his untimely passing. Jay liked to attend concerts and ride go karts with his wife and children, and their other family and friends. Jay worked at Whirlpool/Maytag for 28 years.
In addition to his parents, Jay is preceded in death by his sister, Carla (Sonny) Hayes.
Jay leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 20 years, Missy McNabb Kyle, two beautiful daughters, Madelynn and Natalie Kyle, son, Sebastian Kyle, brothers, Bobby Kyle (Kristin) Jr, Billy (Melissa) Kyle, uncles, Benny (Debra) Kyle, Tommy Kyle, nephews, Spenser Kyle, Cody Kyle, Eddie (Martha) Messer III, nieces, Cori Kyle, Kaylee Kyle, Sydney Hayes, great nieces and nephew, Beau Kyle, Makenna Messer, Kylen Messer, Cameron Kyle, mother and father in-law, Dibble and Katherine ,and long time best friends, Gary Levi, and Jimmy Revelle.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm prior to the service.
