Janice Faye Tatum, age 86, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 24. Born on December 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Jewell Fowler.
She was a faithful member of Boanerges Baptist Church, where she shared a special bond with her pastors, David and Sherry Disney.
A lover of the outdoors, Janice found great joy in the simple beauty of nature. She admired wildlife and took pleasure in tending to her beautiful flowers. She cherished the time she spent traveling and taking day trips, but her greatest happiness came from visiting with her beloved friends and family.
To Janice, family was everything. Her three daughters were the center of her world, and she absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and an unwavering spirit that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William "Bill" Tatum; her parents, Willie and Jewell Fowler; her sisters, Trunisia Owenby, Verna Lee Millsaps, China Adams, Betty Smith, and Charlotte Brown; and her brothers, Mitchell, Edward, Quinton, and Maylon Fowler.
She is survived by her three daughters, Loraine Flynt and her husband Bryan, Patti Terry and her husband Steven, and Paula Headrick and her husband Kenny. She is also survived by her sisters, Elaine Whaley and Judy Burns; her grandchildren, Ashlyn Bishop (Matthew), Kenzie Franklin (Bradley), and Bradley Headrick; and her great-grandchildren, Kennedy Bishop, Case Bishop, Luke Franklin, and Ava Franklin.
Janice's family will receive friends from 1pm until 3pm on Thursday April 30th at the Ridge Sanctuary of Companion Funeral Home located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation at 3pm with Pastor David Disney officiating. She will be laid to rest at Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her amazing caregiver, Jacquelyn Lewin, as well as Diane Pastore, whose dedicated care and support were a great blessing to Janice and her family.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Janice or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral & Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Tatum family with these arrangements.
