Janice V. Catena

Janice V. Catena, age 85, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026. Born in 1941, in New Jersey, she dedicated her life to her family and career, leaving behind a legacy of love and hard work. Janice spent most of her life living in New Jersey before moving to Tennessee.

Janice cherished every moment spent with her children, Carolyn Skrzyniarz and her husband James, Raymond Catena and his wife Mimi, as well as her beloved grandchildren Lyndsey (Ben) Parker, Kyle (Nicole) Skrzyniarz, Megan Catena, Raymond Catena, and great-grandchildren Preston and Ella. She also delighted in the company of her nieces, nephews, and grand pets, including Teddy, Huey, Lenny, Zeke, Puppy, Mitzi, and Shadow. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved Westie, Scottie.

Janice traveled extensively throughout the United States and to numerous countries with her husband, Ray, often accompanied by her mother, Myrtle. Her dedication to family was evident through her eagerness to be always present for her family and friends no matter the distance or time it got to get there.

Janice took great pride in maintaining her home, creating a warm and inviting space filled with memories. Her love for shopping, whether for clothes, shoes, or thoughtful gifts for others was only rivaled by her passion for dancing, and her admiration for Elvis. Janice enjoyed watching sporting events especially New York baseball, football, and basketball. She was also a fan of the Indiana Fever women's basketball team. A true patriot, she often sang along with the National Anthem.

Her hardworking nature and commitment to excellence earned her notable recognition throughout her career. Janice was a highly respected manager in the telecommunications industry with outstanding achievements during her tenure at AT&T, Lucent, and Avaya.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Catena, her mother, Myrtle Weiler, stepfather Alexander Weiler, and brothers George Forman and Alexander Weiler. She will be remembered for her kindness, fun nature, and her deep love for her family.

In her honor, Janice's family will receive family and friends from 10:00-10:30 am followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 633 St. John Court, Farragut, TN.
