Janet Faye Isennock, age 86, of Ooltewah, TN, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 13, 2026, at Erlanger East Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Born May 25, 1940, in Marion, VA, Janet was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Laura Shupe Sexton.
Janet graduated high school in 1959 from Lee Academy, which at that time was part of Lee College of Cleveland, TN. After 30 years of service as a cashier and bookkeeper, Janet retired from A&P Grocers. Janet had a passion for hosting and cooking for friends and family. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing games with friends, antiquing, and collecting meaningful pieces over the years that she enjoyed displaying in her home. Spending time at her home in New Port Ritchie, FL was something Janet looked forward to each winter. Janet trusted in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Harrison, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas Broomell, two brothers Paul and Scott Sexton (Sandy), and grandson Thomas Kinder.
Janet is survived by her husband Edward Isennock, one daughter Cathy Fanus (Larry) of Delta, PA, two sons Matthew Isennock (Phyllis) of Newnan, GA, and Daniel Isennock (Misty) of Chattanooga, TN. She is also survived by six grandchildren Adam and Kimberly Kinder, Hannah and Christopher Isennock (Shannon), Jacob Jackson (Gaby) and Camdyn Isennock, two great-grandchildren, John Kinder and Kate Isennock, along with many friends. Janet is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Lakewood Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Gilbert. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 am until the start of the funeral service. Burial will follow at Lee Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Janet's memory to Lakewood Baptist Church.
