In Loving memory of Janet Davis (née Puryear)
April 10, 1939 - February 2, 2026
Janet Davis passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026. Born on April 10, 1939, she was a longtime resident of Thornton, Colorado, where she built a life centered on love, family, and togetherness.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Davis; her parents, Myrtle and Ernest Puryear; her brother, Larry Puryear; and her son-in-law, Timothy Peters.
Janet is survived by her three daughters, Jodeen Peters, Darla Champlain, and Leslie Davis McKown; her identical twin sister, Janice Burt; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Pennington. She also leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her best friend of more than 50 years, Kathi Malaske-all of whom were deeply cherished.
Janet was the most loving person-kind, nurturing, and endlessly giving. She was an absolutely amazing cook, and her kitchen was a place where family gathered, laughter was shared, and lifelong memories were made. Janet and her husband, Fred, enjoyed traveling together and spending time with family, which always brought her the greatest joy.
Janet was truly the heart of her family. Her love connected generations, and while her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy will live on through the family she held so close and the love she gave so freely.
She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
No services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Janet's memory to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
Companion Funeral Home of Athens and the Cody family are honored to assist the family during this time.
