Jane Claudetta Stegall Rodgers went home to be with the Lord on Monday July 6, 2026. Jane was born on August 30, 1950, to Fletcher Eugene & Verdia Lee Stegall. Jane was their third child and second daughter. There would be 4 more children to follow, 1 more girl and 3 boys.

Jane was employed by Athens Products until it closed in 2003. After leaving Athens Products Jane worked in sewing and upholstery at Sea Ray in Vonore. She also co-owned and operated Granny's Quilt Shop for many years. Jane loved sewing and quilting. She made quilts of all sizes as well as bibs for both babies and the elderly. She also enjoyed going yard saling and having yard sales. Jane never met a stranger.

Jane married Hugh Vernon Rodgers (Buck) on June 6, 1966. Jane and Buck had 3 daughters. Audra was born February of 1968, Vada was born June 1970, and Aundrea was born September of 1977.

Jane and her middle daughter began attending Salem Baptist Church in the mid-1970's. Jane was a beginner's church teacher, Bible School teacher, and sang in the choir. Jane was a faithful member until her health began to fail.

Buck and Jane settled down in the Erie Community after Buck ended his active-duty military career with the United States Navy. Jane lived there for the remainder of her life.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Vernon Rodgers - Buck, oldest daughter Audra Claudetta Rodgers, father Fletcher Eugene Stegall, mother Verdia Lee Pass, stepfather Pete Pass, brothers Chester Eugene Stegall (Jr), David Stegall, & Kenneth Stegall, and sister Mary Ruth Stegall Lones.

Jane is survived by her daughter and caregiver Aundrea Leona Walton (Joshua) of Sweetwater, TN and daughter Vada Maria Jenkins (Allen) of Sweetwater, TN, grandchildren Joshua Walton & A.J. Jenkins, siblings Rita Stamey & Ricky Stegall (Sheila), special friend Chett Winchell and many other family and friends.

We would like to extend a special Thank You to Brenda Mashburn for the time she spent with ane playing games and singing to her.

The family will receive friends at Salem Missionary Baptist Church at 1212 Salem Valley Rd. Ten Mile TN on Friday July 10, 2026 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm the funeral will follow with the Dr. Ted Clower officiating. A graveside service will be held at Shelton Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweetwater TN at 10 am on Saturday July 11, 2026. Pallbearers will be Joshua Walton, Robert Brooks, Allen Hutsell, Chase Belcher, A.J. Jenkins, & Chett Winchell.
