James Dalton Williams

James Dalton Williams, 82, passed away August 17, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family. He was born April 24, 1943, to the late Edjar & Cora Williams. James served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with the love of his life and his family. James served as a deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for many years and loved the Lord. Also, he retired from Cummins after 35 years and then worked at LFO as a custodian for 10 years and all the kids called him "Mr. Jim."

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Carol Williams, Shirly and Jack Linzey, Richard Williams.

James is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret Sue Williams; children, Carla Hammon, Scott Hammon and Christopher S. Williams; siblings, Patty Williams, Janeen and Don Hall; grandchildren, Drew C. Hammon, Andrea Hammon, Alexis Williams, Noah Chapman and Katie Jones; great-grandchildren, Harbor Hammon, Endeavor Hammon, Dahlia Osborne and Lotus Gurrero.

James will be laid to rest with his wife, at Mt Pleasant at a later time. There will be no services at this time.
