James W. O'Donald

James W. O’Donald, 86, passed away January 3, 2021. Jim retired from Volunteer Electric Cooperative after 25 years of service as the Cleveland Area Manager covering Bradley, Hamilton and Polk counties. Jim considered it a privilege to work with the crews that kept electricity available especially after storms and bad weather when it was needed the most. He never met a stranger and was always there to help others in time of need.

In years past Jim was a member of the Mason Lodge and a member of the Shriners. Raising money to help children for the Shriners Hospital was always priority.

Before they were unable to drive, Jim and Jane attended Savannah Bay Baptist Church in Ooltewah.

He is preceded in death by is parents: William Henry “Doc” O’Donald and Louise Bessie (Bryson) O’Donald. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Jane Ellen (Byrd) O’Donald. They were married for 65 years; son Dennis James (Denny) O’Donald (Murfreesboro); Daughter-n-law Debbie O’Donald: Twin Granddaughters Sydney Nicole O’Donald and Wesley Victoria O’Donald.

The family will hold a private memorial service.
