James Daryl Robertson Jr.

James Daryl Robertson, Jr., 38, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Ooltewah, Tennessee.

Born on April 7, 1989, in Chattanooga, James was the beloved son of Lisa Fay Robertson and James "Daryl" Robertson. To his family, he was affectionately known as "DJ."

James was known for his protective and kind-hearted nature, playful spirit, and quiet strength. He took great pride in his strong work ethic and was deeply committed to his work. A talented chef, James had a genuine passion for cooking and found joy in creating food for others.

Those who knew James will remember him as a quiet observer who noticed details that others often overlooked. He took in the world around him with a depth and attentiveness that was uniquely his own. Though he was often the quiet one in the room, James had a wonderful sense of humor and an ability to make others laugh, bringing lightness and comfort to those carrying heavy burdens of their own.

James had a lifelong love of cars, a passion that began during childhood in his Papaw's mechanic shop. His interests ranged from imports to classic automobiles, and he possessed an extensive knowledge and appreciation for all things automotive. Driving was more than a pastime for James-it was a place of peace and comfort. He found particular joy in taking long drives through Birchwood and along the old roads, where he could find a sense of calm and escape.

James also loved the game of golf, both watching and playing. He enjoyed following the sport and spending time on the course or at the driving range when he could, appreciating the challenge, focus, and enjoyment that came with the game.

James was also a collector and lifelong learner. He had a remarkable knowledge of collectibles and enjoyed collecting everything from Hot Wheels and model cars to coins and antique currency. Whatever captured his interest, James dedicated himself to learning as much as he could, often developing an impressive depth of knowledge about the things he loved. He also maintained a lifelong love of video games, another interest that brought him enjoyment throughout the years.

James is survived by his mother, Lisa Fay Robertson; his brother, Bradley Robertson; his father, James "Daryl" (Michele) Robertson and Brent, Kailyn, Amber, and Brandon. He is also survived his maternal grandmother, Carol Dover; maternal grandfather, Billy (Charlotte) Dover; maternal uncle, Darrell (Jamie) Dover; maternal great uncle, Tim Ogle; paternal grandfather, James "Jim" Robertson; paternal uncles, Dean (Stephanie) Robertson and Bret (Lisa) Robertson; paternal great uncle, Art White; paternal great aunts, Beth White and Nancy Gallagher; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Debbie Robertson.

James will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, quiet presence, sense of humor, curiosity, and passions will remain a lasting part of the lives of those who loved him. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Visitation will be on Saturday October 10, 2026 from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Ridge Sanctuary of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2412 Georgetown Rd. NW Cleveland, TN 37311 ; followed by A Celebration of Life Service beginning at 5:00 PM.
