James Harold Plemons "Fluffy, age 78, of Tellico Plains, passed away on July 21, 2026.

Harold was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures and in the time he spent with those he loved most. He had a deep love for fishing, so much so that he would let his children skip school just to spend a day on the water with him, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and raising chickens, taking pride in the life he built at home. Sundays were especially meaningful to Harold, as he treasured gathering around the table with his family for dinner.

He also had a passion for music, spending his younger years singing and playing guitar in a band. At one time in his life, he faithfully served as a preacher, sharing his beliefs with others. Harold was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, having honorably served his country during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lucille Plemons; his grandchildren, Lex Marshall Bickerstaff and Cale James Bickerstaff; and his siblings, ML Plemons and Faye Lethcoe.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Marilyn Plemons; his children, Ashley (James) Wells, Sabrina (Chris) Wagers, Kasie (Tanner) Rogers, Toby Plemons, and Emily Plemons (Lance Spoon); his eleven grandchildren, Kaylee, Gabriel, Malakai, Hunter, Tucker, Skylie, Khloe, Carver, Rylee, Taylor, and Avery; his beloved fur babies, Sassy, Fancy, and Lila; along with many other extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.

The family will hold services at a later date.
