James "Moppy" Moser, 70 of McDonald passed peacefully on October 1st, 2026 after a battle of pancreatic cancer. James retired from Whirlpool after 44 years of service. He worked part time at Food City in Ooltewah for the last year. James also washed and detailed automobiles for people and friends in the Bradley County area.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Oscar and Zady Moser, his stepson Bobby Coffman, his father-in-law Wayne Pickett, and a special cousin Alan White.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen Moser, the mother of his daughter Velma Hicks, daughter Melinda (a special son-in-law Jamey) Raines, step daughter Nicole (Chris) Barrineau, grand children, Kyndall Rowland and Brayden Barrineau, Allison Raines, Amber (Logan) Griswold, Sierra (Eric) Kachold , 2 great grandsons, Miles Hooper and Niko Kachold. He had a special companion, Tucker, his Doberman that he loved.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 11 2026 at 4:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary with Pastor Travis Humbard and Pastor Peggy Clements Wright officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm prior to the service.
A graveside service is to follow at Lee Cemetery with Jamey Raines, Gerald Mullins, David Ownby, Gary Ownby, Logan Griswold , and Carl Hicks serving as pallbearers. Brett Swafford, Garry Cross, Ross Dunn, and Tracey Swafford will serve as honorary pallbearers.
