James Johnson

James "David" Johnson, 75, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Born on January 10, 1950, he was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Celia Virginia Huggins Self, and his father, Ulyss Self.

He is survived by his daughter, Tara White; grandson, Taylor White; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Trinity White, who was affectionately known as "the baby" and truly his pride and joy. He also leaves behind his brothers, Jimmy Johnson and Jerry "Mac" Self; his sisters, Dyan "Cookie" King and Tammy Hodgson; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold his memory close.

David lived a simple, laid-back life and found joy in the things he loved most-football, racing, and spending time outdoors. Whether watching a race, catching a game, or enjoying the fresh air, he embraced each moment with an easygoing spirit and a warm heart.

He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
