James Houston

J.D. Houston, 91, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Tennova Hospital. J.D. was born on August 7, 1932, in Charleston, Tennessee to the late Leonard and Modena McAlister Houston. He retired from Velsicol Chemical after 30 years of service. He also was the owner of a local dairy farm. He enjoyed spending time working on his farm for most of his life. J.D. was a dedicated member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church for many years.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Laverne Houston; and sister, Virginia Ann Lunsford.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Rhonda Houston Hooker; and his god given friend and caregiver, Wally Farris of Cleveland, Tennessee; along with a host of extended family and friends.
