James David Cook

James “David” Cook, born August 19, 1957, age 69, passed away October 8, 2026, at Fort Loudoun Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

David was a native of Niota, TN, but was a resident of Philadelphia, TN, for the last 50 years.

David was preceded in death by his father, Henry Edward Cook, and mother, Peggy Lucy Cook, of Niota, TN; his grandparents, Temur and Minnie Cook of Niota, TN, and Fred Lingerfelt and Eva Marie Vines of Georgia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kathy Cook; his son, Eddie Cook, and wife, Abby; his daughter, Shannon Harris, and husband, Tony; his cherished grandchildren, Skylar Epperson and husband, Anthony, Hannah Harris, Nelson Harris, Trace Cook (Alyssa), and Westin Cook; great-grandchildren, Garrison and Tinzlee Harris; sister, Sharon Frank (Gerald); brother, Ronnie Cook (Sandra); special cousin, Rita Stiner, along with many loved and cherished nieces and nephews.

David was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a graduate of McMinn County High School. He was a dedicated employee of Niota Textile/Neuville Industries for 35 years, where he began his career in the shipping department and driving a truck and worked his way up to Supervisor.

David had a deep love for sports and spent many years playing slow-pitch softball with all of his buddies. He then moved on to become his children and grandchildren’s biggest fan and supporter in whatever they were a part of!

David had a very adventurous spirit and was a friend to all; he never met a stranger.

David’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 6100 Corinth Church Rd., Loudon, TN 37774.

Please come dressed casual and ready to share memories. Finger foods will be provided by Corinth Baptist Church.
