Jackie Lyles, 87, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, and 1956 graduate of Bradley Central High School, passed away December 12, 2015. Choosing a career with TDOT until his retirement in 1998, Jackie was also a retired SFC E-7 from the TN National Guard from 1960-1987. He was a guard for the Apollo Moon Rock that was brought back to Earth, in a National Rotation.
After 62 years of marriage to Kay Bowlin Lyles, he was Father of two; Grandfather of one, which he liked to play video games and watch wrestling with; and Great Grandfather of three. He loved to play family games.
Jackie's love for family, faith, and friends were very important to him. He was a Father to the Fatherless, a Friend to the friendless, and a Home to the homeless. As a former Mess Sergeant with the National Guard. Jackie loved to cook, making the best cornbread and fried chicken ever. Mini vacations were his choice of travel "Never too far, for too long", he would always say. If Heaven has a kitchen, Jackie will be serving the masses, I'm sure.
Jackie was proceeded in death by his wife Kay Bowlin Lyles, Father Thomas Lyles, Mother Mattie Ruth Scoggins, and Brother Richard Lyles.
Jackie is survived by Son, Tracy Lyles; Daughter, Katrina (Doug) Bullard; Grandson Joshua (Maya) Bullard; Great Granddaughters Kylie, Kaylin, Kindle Bullard; Brother, Jerry (JoAnne) Lyles; Sister, Brenda (Robby) Stepp; Sister-in-law, Mary Anne Lyles and Special Friend Allen Bowman.
