Jack Robert Bishop Jr, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his home, surrounded by family. Jack was born on September 16, 1955, in Asheville, North Carolina to Jack and Joan Bishop.
Jack was a beloved father, brother, and friend who was deeply loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was a proud Army veteran and a retired offshore installations manager (OIM). His career took him across the globe, from the red rocks of Australia, to the coast of the Congo, to the shores of Brazil, allowing him to explore the world many times over.
In his free time, Jack could often be found in his woodshop, where he enjoyed carving and creating with both wood and leather. There was little he couldn't create. He enjoyed the great outdoors whether it was hunting, casting a fishing line, or sitting out on the porch.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Joan Bishop.
Jack is survived by his faithful dog, Ace; his beloved children, Jack and Cindy; his siblings Helen (Brad), Kathy (David), Nyle (Cindy), and Diana; and his nieces and nephews Eric (Alexis), Justin, Shelton (Heather, Ever), and Tori.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved him. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at the Reliance Fly and Tackle on July 18th from 1 pm - 4 pm.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Jack or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com.
