Jack A. Mantooth, 79, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friay evening, January 19, 2018. He was born in Cleveland, TN on April 27, 1938 a son of the late Herman and Roxie Mantooth. Jack was of the Baptist faith and attened Cedar Springs Baptist Church. He was truck driver for over 42 years and many people remembered him for his CB handle “Crazy Jack”. After retiring, Jack became a local beef cattle farmer and enjoyed spending his free time visiting local livestock auctions. Jack was a member of the local Masonic Lodge #134 and a member of the Alhambra Shriners of Chattanooga and Cleveland. He served as President of the Cleveland Shrine for two years. Jack however will be most remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather.
In addition to his parents, his is preceded in death by his grandparents Alfus & Grace Mantooth and Hargis & Pearl Griffith.
Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 58 years Juanell Beaty Mantooth, one daughter Pam Rogers and her husband Tim, two sons Jack Allen Mantooth and his wife Robin and Michael Mantooth (Adrienne), two sisters Lola Anderson (Verlin) and Nelda Mayo of Orlando, FL, one brother Lake Mantooth, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, numerous other extended family members, fellow lodge members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday evening, January 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Cedar Spring Baptist Church located at 760 Cedar Springs Church Road SE in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Guinn Green and Pastor Dusty Caldwell officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at the church from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal service will take place on Wednesday, Januay 24, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Beaty Cemetery with Corey Mantooth, Tyler Mantooth, Bret Rogers, Ricky Martin, Brien Davis and Larry Mitchell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Hawkins and Jayden Mantooth.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to either the Beaty Cemetery Fund c/o Terry Beaty 3541 Windsor Circle, Cleveland, TN 37312 or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
