Hershell Waters

Hershell Waters, 77, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Hershell was born on February 28, 1948 in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Amos Eldon Waters and Ruth Ruby Lee Green Waters. Hershell spent his career working at several different carpet mills in Dalton, GA before retiring from Synthethic Industries.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Fay (Thidore) Gibbs, and Barbara Ann (Joe) Morgan; daughter in law, Angela Waters; his father and mother in law, Hoyt and Helen Lance; brothers, Roland Waters and Gary Waters; and his sister in law, Gina German.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 59 years, Rita Lance Waters; sons, Ronnie Lee (Tracy) Waters, Michael Anthony (Brenda) Waters, and Hershell Lamar Waters; his grandchildren, Jaci (Tony) Kazy, Stephen Waters, and Brett Waters; three great grandchildren, Stella, Ollie, and Terry; and his sister in law and brother in law, Joyce and Ray Bruce; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Mack Shelton Parlor with Brett Waters officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service.

A graveside service is to follow at Cohulla Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Guinn Green officiating. Ronnie Waters, Michael Waters, Brett Waters, Steven Waters, James Gibbs, and Michael Stozier will be serving as pallbearers. Terry "Little Man" Soloman will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
