Herbert Andy Miller, Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, in Chattanooga, TN. He was born June 18, 1947, in Oak Ridge, TN, and of the Christian faith. Herbert was a Chattanooga native since 1970 and a member of East Ridge Baptist Church. He attended Oak Ridge High School, where he played the trumpet and a graduate of UT-Knoxville.
Herbert established a successful career as a self-employed Certified Public Accountant in Chattanooga, where he served clients with dedication and professionalism for many years.
He was an avid sports fan of all sports, especially TN football. He was a huge Vol fan. In addition to his love for sports, he enjoyed playing basketball, golf, billiards, and bowling. A voracious reader, he was rarely seen without a book in hand, delighting in the world of literature. Known for his witty and dry sense of humor, he was truly the life of the party, surrounded by many friends who appreciated his joyful spirit.
Herbert was deeply committed to his family, cherishing his roles as husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Andy Miller Sr.; mother, Beulah (Slusher) Miller; and grandson, Zackary Tyler Miller. He is survived by his son, Cecil Andy Miller; daughter, Christin Joy Miller; brother, Leonard Anthony Miller; and grandchildren, Andrew Lee Miller, Jacob Scott Dillson, and Faith (Miller) Brengle.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home-Chattanooga Chapel, located at 6018 John Douglas Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421. This will be followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM to celebrate Herbert's life and legacy.
