Harold Dewayne "Wayne" Holland

Harold Dewayne "Wayne" Holland passed away on July, 31 2026, at the home of his daughter on Signal Mtn, TN. He was surrounded by family and love when he went home to be with the Lord.

He was a member of the Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip for many years, a lot of that time he spent as "Track Champ". He first was the driver for Tom White, that included a Chevrolet Nova and several Chevrolet Vegas. He also drove for himself in a 1966 Chevrolet Chevell named Close Encounters. In his later years he became one of the primary photographers of the track. Over the years, his latest hobby became restoring his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air to original condition. These were his passions in life. Racing, Restoring and Photography. That was until his grandson came along, the light of his life.

He worked 40yrs at what was formerly the Rock Tenn Printing Company. Once retired, he worked with his son-in-law doing residential remodeling for the next 7yrs. Everyone he worked with has endless stories to tell, that all end with laughter.

He is preceded in death by his Foster Parents, Roy & Edith Cooper, Father Harold J. Holland, Niece Jennifer Watson & Father & Mother-in-law Lester (Jeannette) White.

He is survived by his Wife, Tonia Holland, Daughter Heather (JC) Dempsey, Grandson Jake (Cassie) Dempsey, Honorary Grandson & Granddaughter Carter (Abbi) Dempsey. Mother Elizabeth Mason, Brother Richard (Debbie) Holland, Sister Regina Wilson. Also including several Nieces & Nephews. We are thankful he was able to celebrate the news that he was going to be an honorary Great Grandad, thanks to Carter & Abbi. Wayne was also considered "Grandad" to many others, as he watched his grandson's friends & cousins grow up.

He loved all of us & all of us loved him more than he could have ever known.

His "Celebration of Life" service will take place at Timesville Ave Baptist Church, 1808 Timesville Rd Signal Mtn, TN 37377.

Visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:00. Service will start at 2:00. Ashes will be buried at the Welsh-Rogers Cemetery, in Sale Creek, TN, immediately following the service.
