Rhyne Gray Hapgood “Happy” Williams, 65 of Rossville, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. He was born in Chattanooga on May 10, 1961, to Rhyne Junior and Virginia Holmes Williams. In his younger years, Happy was named Most Valuable Player in his youth baseball league. He was a gifted craftsman and enjoyed working his construction job. Happy also liked watching Nascar. He enjoyed fishing, Tennessee football, and Atlanta Braves baseball. Above all, Happy loved Jesus and spending time with his family. Happy was a good ole boy.
Happy was preceded in death by his father, Rhyne Junior Williams; wife; and brother-in-law, Harold Lavon Evitt.
Happy is survived by his mother, Virginia Williams; children, Ciara (Andy) Keown, Jeremy Williams, and Alexis (Josh) Brady; grandchildren, Kayden Williams, Brenton Williams, Harper Keown, and Luna Keown; sisters, Rhonda Evitt, Terry Renee Williams, and Rachelle (Wendell) Patton; brother, Terry (Carmen) Moon; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and beloved friends.
Visitation will be held at Tyner United Methodist Church located at 6805 Standifer Gap Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 3:00PM – 5:00PM. A Celebration of Happy’s Life will begin at 5:00PM at the church with Steve Moore officiating.
