Hannelore "Honey" Freeman, 82, of Etowah, TN passed away on March 17, 2026.
Born in Germany to the late Siegfred and Anna vonPolenski on September 28, 1943, Honey was a wife, mother, granny, and mamaw who loved her family and animals. She loved to garden, specifically her flower garden. She loved going to yard sales and flea markets. Honey loved to cook, especially for her family. Family was everything to Honey, she was their glue and caretaker. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence James Freeman; parents, Siegfred and Anna vonPolenski; son, Larry Freeman; and grandchildren, Wendell Wolf and Fred Freeman.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Freeman; grandchildren, JayDee (Jessique) Wolf, Lorenz Freeman, Katelyn Scott, Hanna Colon, and Courtney Colon; great grandchildren, Bradley, Shawn, Brayden, Danika, Makayla, Brooke, Clayton, Avery, Pheonix, Kason, Asriah, Avy, Leo, Juniper, Jane, and LeJend; sister, Inge Boiger; nephews, Harold (Moni) Boiger and Oliver (Bianca) Boiger; great nephew and niece, Luca and Lenja; and many other loved family and friends.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Visitation on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Companion Funeral Home of Athens.
