Gwen J. Johnson Samples

Gwen J. Johnson Samples, 83 of Cleveland Tennessee passed away on August 19, 2025 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her father James Johnson, her mother Jane Burrell and her husband of 60 years Ronald Joe "Dude" Samples as well as her step-father, J.L. Burrell. Gwen was a lifelong member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

Gwen is survived by her sons, Joe (Vickie) and John (Marran) Samples, grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Crowe, Corey (Ashley) Samples, Frank (Faith) Nolan, and J.T. Samples, great-grandchildren, Emilee Perry, Jackson Crowe, Katelyn and Cooper Samples, brothers, Jack and Gene Johnson, Jim Burrell, sisters, Janet Burrell and Brenda Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Mack Shelton Parlor with Brother Marvin Kirkpatrick officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Corey Samples, Jason Crowe, Frank Nolan, J.T. Samples, Jack Johnson JR, and Drake Longoria serving as pallbearers. Jackson Crowe will be serving as an honorary pallbearer.
