Gregory Lynn Kaylor, age 66, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Greg was born and raised in Cleveland, Tennessee, and he lived in the Prospect area for nearly all of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kaylor; mother, Bonita Kaylor; son, Brad Kaylor; daughters, Ashley Kaylor and Aleisha Kaylor; father-in-law, Ronald Pickler Sr.; mother-in-law, Delores Wattenbarger; brother-in-law, Ronald Pickler Jr.; step-father-in-law, Tim Wattenbarger; and his beloved "chosen papaw," Charles "Coonhead" Martin, along with several friends and cousins who left this earth too soon.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Kaylor; daughter and "pride and joy," Shanna Kaylor Cochran; his son-in-law, Marcus Cochran, brother, Mickey (Robin) Kaylor; his sister, Valerie Cullins; sisters-in-law, Linda (Jerome) Broome and Cheryl Wattenbarger LaVette; his playful pup, Amos; several dearly loved nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends whom he cherished as family.
Greg was a gifted artist who loved sketching and painting. He spent most of his career as a carpenter, building and repairing nearly anything with ease, and also delighted in rebuilding engines just for fun. He enjoyed watching westerns, riding the mini bike he built himself, and was known for showing up to fix whatever was broken for anyone in his life. As a boy, he cherished his years in the Boy Scouts, and throughout his life he attended various churches, professing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Greg had a deep love for music and the outdoors, which he passed down to his daughter, Shanna. He was known for dancing like no one was watching, breaking into song and dance whenever the rhythm moved him. Friends and family also knew him as an acrobat of sorts-walking on his hands, riding a unicycle, or performing a back tuck just because. His greatest joy was making his loved ones smile, and he did that exceptionally well.
Greg's life was a reminder that joy can be found in slowing down and savoring the simple things. Whether in the quiet of nature or the strokes of his artwork, he discovered beauty everywhere and shared that gift with those around him. His legacy lives on in the smiles he inspired and the love he gave so freely.
