Glenn Ray Proffitt, 74, a lifelong resident of Cleveland went home to be with our Lord on Monday, June 12, 2023. He was the son of the late Jackson “Jack” Proffitt and Stella Kear Proffitt.
Affectionately known by many as “Wedge”, Glenn lived a simple and honest life. An electrician and farmer by trade, Glenn enjoyed and excelled in many hobbies and pastimes such as machine work, welding, and tractors. His garage was a frequent gathering place for friends and fish stories over the years.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Proffitt; and his sister, Grace Ownby.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brothers, Earl (Faye) Proffitt, and Loy (Becky) Proffitt, and Roy (Shelia) Proffitt; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:30 am at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Dick Sisk officiating.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Glenn or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
