Glenda Dale Smith, of Harrison, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on August 29, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida, Glenda lived a life rooted in faith, love, and quiet strength. She was the beloved daughter of Glen and Inez Williams, both of whom preceded her in death.

Glenda shared a beautiful love story with her husband, David Smith, whom she met at church at the age of 13. They went on to build a life together that spanned 60 years of marriage, filled with deep love, unwavering commitment, and cherished memories. David preceded her in death, and their reunion is a comfort to those who loved them.

She is survived by her daughters, Shelley (Bryan) Pritchard and Laura (Tony) Griffith. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Nadia (Dirk) Kain, Ellen Barrows, Meagan (Ethan) Hunter, Andrew (Mariah) Barrows, Nicholas Barrows and Jonathan (Rebecca) Barrows. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren Stacey Barrows and McKenzie Barrows.

Glenda was also a deeply cherished great-grandmother to Kelsey Worrell; Nori and Hudson Kain; Baker and Goldie Brooks Hunter; Liam and Lorelai Barrows and Rosemary Barrows, each of whom brought her immense joy.

She is also survived by her beloved sister, Patricia (Marty) Brunson. In her later years, Glenda was especially grateful to have her sister living nearby after moving from Florida to Tennessee. That time together, just being neighbors, sharing everyday moments, became one of life’s sweetest gifts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Janice Williams, Paul Williams, Paulette Williams, and Steve Williams.

She spent many years working in the insurance industry, serving in various roles with dedication and care. Glenda found her greatest joy in her family. She loved cooking, gathering loved ones together, and creating a home filled with warmth. A woman of deep and abiding faith, she was devout in her relationship with God and lived her life as a reflection of that faith. She was prayerful, gentle and kind.

Glenda had a quiet spirit that made others feel seen and heard. She was a steady presence, always ready with a listening ear, a thoughtful word, or a heartfelt prayer. She and her husband loved to travel together, and she found particular peace at the beach, her favorite place to rest and reflect.

To know Glenda was to experience kindness in its purest form. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply, the faith she carried so faithfully, and the countless lives she touched with her gentle heart.

A graveside service will be held on May 16th at 10:00 AM at Harrison Cemetery on Highway 58.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was close to Glenda’s heart. Glenda and her husband, David, were lifelong contributors to the hospital.
