George Allen Parkinson

October 30, 1932 — August 30, 2019

George Allen Parkinson, 86, a lifelong resident of Riceville, TN passed away on Friday morning, August 30, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born in Riceville on October 30, 1932 a son of the late Fred & Velma Ware Parkison. He was retired from the U.S. Airforce and also served in the Civil Service for a total of 40 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of Eastanalle Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Kenny Taylor Parkinson.
George leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Margaret Sisco Parkinson, sons: Wayne A. Parkinson and wife Susan, Dale Steven Parkinson and wife Deborah, George Scott Parkinson and fiancé Susan and Stephen D. Sisco, daughters: Lynn Antonelli and husband Peter and Carol Jaspering and husband Jeff, grandchildren: Trish, Steven George and Alyssa Antonelli, Brittany & Jessie “Nikki” Michael and Josh, Annie & Jeffrey Parkinson, great grandchildren Aries Michael and Mansa Antonelli, brother Billy Parkison, many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, September 3, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Eastanalle Baptist Church located 482 County Road 725 in Riceville, TN. A service celebrating George’s life will began at 7:00 PM with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. The service will conclude with military honors.
A private family interment will take place at a later date in the Eastanalle Baptist Church Cemetery.
In leu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in George’s memory to the Leukemia foundation, Eastanalle Baptist Church building fund or the charity of your choice.
