Gary "Rusty" Everette Kyle, 67, of Tellico Plains passed away on September 3, 2026.

Rusty was a hardworking man who spent his life as a mechanic. He had a natural talent for fixing things and was the kind of person who could figure out how to repair just about anything. He had a true passion for racing, especially drag racing, and enjoyed the thrill of being around fast cars. He also loved motorcycles and spending time water skiing.

In his younger years, Rusty enjoyed playing basketball and staying active. He will be remembered for his mechanical abilities, his love of racing and motorcycles, and the many memories he made throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by parents, Paul "Pete" and Rhoda Kyle; sisters, Diane Kyle, Polly McDaniel and Ellen Kyle; and brother in-law David Tilley.

Survivors include his sister, Janie Tilley; special niece, Amy Dawson and her son, Shelby; nephew, Courtney Kyle; and aunt, Pat Milburn.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his cousin, Amanda and his special friend, Missy for all their help and care during this difficult time.

There will be no formal services at this time.

You are encouraged to share a memory of Rusty and extend your condolences to his family by visiting his memorial page and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Athens and the Cody family are honored to assist with these arrangements.
