Gary Steven Ford, age 75, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on May 8, 2026. He was born on December 19, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Gary attended Frayser High School and later pursued studies in criminal justice. In 1970, he joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country and attaining the rank of Sergeant. During his military career, he was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict, where he was exposed to Agent Orange.

In the mid-1980s, Gary became involved with Shelby Youth Sports, where his daughters cheered and his son ran track. His dedication and leadership led him to serve as a football commissioner, overseeing 10 different areas across Memphis.

In his retirement years, Gary found joy in reading, working in his yard, and spending time with his beloved dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Ford and Betty Logan, and his sister, Vivian Harper.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Debbie Coletta Ford; his children, Tiffany Everett (Mike), Robert "Robbie" Ford (Josette), and Amanda Dunn; as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Companion Funeral Home, 653 Briarcliff Avenue, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Military Honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
