Gary Wayne Brown, 62, passed away on September 30, 2026. He was born to the late Lena and Kenneth Brown on May 25, 1964 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Gary was always on the go, and especially loved traveling and seeing the mountains and Bear country. He was a big Atlanta Braves fan, and liked to watch baseball games and collect baseball cards. In his free time, Gary could also be found fishing or going to a yard sale. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and other close family.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his siblings, Randy Brown and Debbie Brown, grandparents, Reddie and Harold Wilson, step-son, Kevin Brogdon, father-in-law, Leon Smith, and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie Brown, children, Kerrie (Anthony) Umphrey, Jeremy Brown, brother, Ken Brown, niece, Katie Brown, step-son, Kyle Brogdon, grandchildren, Madison and Abigail Beaton, Kylie Brogdon, mother-in-law, Lynn Nickens, and lifelong friends, Tim and Doylette Estep.
A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary with Pastor Timothy Gann officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Hiwassee Memorial Gardens.
