Freddie Walter Pierce, 72, of Etowah, TN, passed away on October 30, 2026. He was born on March 16, 1954, to James Taylor and Nettie Ella Lee Pierce.

Freddie had a passion for collecting Civil War memorabilia and enjoyed the thrill of discovering pieces of history, often heading out with his metal detector in hopes of finding something special. He also loved fishing, especially trout fishing, and enjoyed cooking just as much as he loved eating! In his spare time, he could often be found watching movies, with a particular fondness for westerns and old-time classics. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his beloved dog, Buddy, who was a special companion to him.

Freddie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, Freddie is preceded in death by brothers, Harold Pierce, Wendall Pierce and Randy Pierce.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Pierce; daughters, Shirley (Shane) Whited and Nikki (Sarah) Osborne-Ingram; grandchildren, Ethan Thomas, Dwight Osborne-Ingram, Leo Osborne-Ingram, Bryson Osborne-Ingram and Ben Osborne-Ingram; brothers, David (Jessie) Pierce of Ellijay, GA, Harold Pierce of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Carmen Fernandez of Ellijay, GA and Angelia (Bryan) Groenhout of Purcellville, Virginia; sister in law, Donna Pierce of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and other loved family and friends.

There will be no formal services at this time. Freddie's family are honoring his wishes, and his cremated remains will be placed at the Davenport Family Cemetery in Ellijay, GA.
