Floyd Greene

September 6, 1947 — August 2, 2025

Floyd McClary Greene, age 77, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord after a long and courageous battle with illness. Born on September 6, 1947, in Athens, Tennessee, to Roy and Iris Greene, Floyd lived a life full of love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family and faith.

An avid outdoorsman, Floyd found joy in nature - whether camping, exploring the outdoors, or simply soaking in the beauty around him. In his younger years, he shared his musical talents as a member of a Country Western band, blending his love for music with his fun-loving spirit. Known for his sharp wit and infectious sense of humor, Floyd had a gift for making others smile.

Above all else, Floyd cherished time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather and great-grandfather, and a treasured friend to many. He was a faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Ten Mile, Tennessee, and his life was a testament to kindness, loyalty, and love. Floyd was also a member of the Local 760 IBEW for 40 years.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Iris Greene; his beloved daughter, Debbie A. Robison; grandson, Michael Greene; brothers, Wayne and Buford Greene; father- and mother-in-law, Carey and Nora Duncan; brother-in-law, Nick Weaver; uncle, Herman Shugart; a precious great-grandchild; and his best friend, Reverend Earl Graves.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Dorothy Greene; children: Michael (Becky) Greene of Decatur, TN; Keith Greene of Athens, TN; and Kevin (Amanda) Greene of Harrison, TN; grandchildren: Nicole, Nikki, Andy, Zoey, Austin, Shakota, Lashea, Jerrison, Paisley, and Tylee; along with 17 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind four siblings, dear friends Dave King, Harold Dale, Leroy, and Lefty, and his loyal fur babies, Buddy and Shy. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Accent Home Health for their compassionate care and support during Floyd's final journey.

Floyd was a man of faith, laughter, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
