Feregus Leonard Carroll, Jr. passed away on May 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on January 1, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee-a true New Year's baby-Feregus lived a steady, thoughtful life rooted in family, home, and tradition.

He spent much of his life in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and lived for periods in Florida, Illinois, and Virginia. A man of deep loyalty and devotion, Len as he was called, was married for more than 40 years to his beloved wife, Glenda, whom he cherished deeply. Her passing in 2024 left a profound sadness in his heart, and he now joins her in heaven.

In his youth, Len played high school football, a love that stayed with him throughout his life as a devoted football fan. He had a lifelong fascination with trains and cars and found great joy in woodworking, building things with his hands, and tending to his cherished model train set and hummingbirds. He was an excellent cook, a gifted guitarist, and a lover of music-especially Elvis, whose songs he shared with Glenda and held close to his heart.

Proud of both his Irish and Cherokee heritage, Len carried those traditions with quiet pride and passed his love of Irish heritage on to his daughter. Though reserved in public, at home he was witty and charming...known for his intelligence, humor, and wonderful storytelling. He loved being at home most of all, surrounded by the life and family he had built.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his loving daughter, Christine Carroll Eschenfelder (Dan); his dear stepdaughters, Christa McMahan (Jody) and Patti Stininger; and his beloved grandchildren, Annalee Perez (Kevin), Cameron Eschenfelder, Sara Griess (Taylor), Jessica McMahan, Travis Olskey, and Elizabeth Olskey.

Feregus Leonard Carroll, Jr. will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a thoughtful craftsman, and a man whose quiet presence, sharp mind, and deep love for his family left a lasting legacy.
