Fay Harrison McCann

Fay Harrison McCann, age 78, of Cleveland, TN peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 surrounded by her loving husband and two children.

She was born on October 2, 1947 in Chatsworth, GA where she grew up. She graduated from Murray County High School in 1965 and shortly thereafter moved to Cleveland, TN. She worked for the Cleveland City School System for 35 years as cashier where she was lovingly known as "Ms. Fay". She knew every child's name as well as their lunch number before they entered the line.

She was a devoted wife, Mother, NeeNee, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was always talented and crafty and could make or do anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed scrapbooking in her later years. She also enjoyed simply riding in the mountains and spending the afternoon at the "Old House".

She was preceded in death by her father Homer Harrison; her mother, Laura Harrison; her grandmother Beulah "Mama" Harrison, and her two brothers, Garman Harrison and Herman Harrison.

She is survived by her husband, Herman McCann; two children, Richard McCann and Leigh Miller. Two sisters, JoAnn Welch and Brenda Kiley and special niece Deborah Ilesanmi; her grandchildren, Lauren McCann, Chelsea (Preston) Scoggins, and Taylor McCann. One great grandchild, Brock McCann, who was the absolute apple of her eye. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

To her family and everyone that knew her she will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Companion Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. with the service beginning at 3 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Michigan Avenue Baptist Cemetery with Ray Edwards, Jeff McCann, Jody Campbell, Buck Campbell, Donnie McCann III, and Brock McCann serving as pallbearers.
