Evelyn Angeline Sharpton, 80, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Friday morning, June 19, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on December 31, 1945, in Reliance, Tennessee, she was a cherished daughter of the late Richard and Ora (Blackwell) Bain.
She spent 37 faithful years working in payroll at American Uniform. But her true life's work was her family. There was no place she loved more than home-especially the Bain family home place on Spring Creek in Reliance, where memories were made, laughter echoed, and love was always present. Her kitchen was the heart of it all, and her spaghetti-made with love-became a tradition that will never be forgotten. To know her was to know kindness in its purest form. She gave without hesitation, loved without limits, and carried a warmth that made everyone feel like they belonged. She was the kind of person who made life softer, safer, and fuller just by being in it.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 63 years, Kent Sharpton; her beloved children, Michael and Angie Sharpton; her precious great-grandchildren, Trent Corvin and Bain Palmer; and her siblings, Jack Bain, Bill Bain, Charlie Bain, Dorothy Lowe, Willie Mae Freeman, Carson Bain, and Mary Ruth Rymer.
Her love continues to live on in those she leaves behind: her granddaughters, Shae (Ernie) Corvin, Anna Sharpton, and Megan (Tyler) Sharpton; her treasured great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Corvin, Braelyne Ledford, Lydia Cross, Jayden and Sam Mantooth; her son, Michael Strozier; brother, Joe Bain and sister, Paulette Lewis land many extended family members who were blessed to know her love.
She was the heart of her family-the steady presence, the gentle soul, the one who held everything together. And while she may be gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.
A memorial gathering will be planned for a later date, and we will update this obituary when those plans are finalized.
