Ernest "Ernie" Lee Young, 60, of Grandview, TN passed away on September 29, 2026. He was born on May 25, 1966, to Lester and Cynthia in Dayton, Ohio.

Preceded in death by his father Lester Young; mother, Cynthia Thomas; his older brother Lester Young Jr; and his late wife, Carolyn Young.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Young; two sisters, Mary Nealy and Amanda Thomas (Matthew); his little brother, Richard Thomas (Renee); and all his nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Ernie held several jobs throughout his life. He worked on a dairy farm, at a Ford dealership as an auto mechanic, and drove semi-trucks in Florida before making the move to Tennessee. There, he worked for Jim Reed at Big T's Auto Parts in Crossville and served as ranch manager at Circle "R" Ranch in Grandview for approximately 24 years, until his passing.

He was also learning the art of becoming a farrier while working alongside his father-in-law at Boyd's Horseshoeing. He told Sam it was one of the hardest things he had ever tried to learn. He hoped to become skilled enough to one day carry on the Boyd/Young Horseshoeing business with Debbie.

Ernie was a strong supporter of Jake's Day and other programs for children. He was also an N.W.T.F. sponsor and supporter for many, many years. He loved hunting turkey, deer, hogs, or whatever was in season - or not in season, if he could get away with it. He also enjoyed fishing and learned to love horseback riding and going on trail rides. It was a wonderful way for him to get away from things, enjoy the company of his horse-riding crew, and share an activity he knew Debbie loved.

Ernie was always there to help others in their time of need. He would give someone the shirt off his back or his last dollar if they needed it.

His smile and sense of humor will truly be missed.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 10:30am at Grandview Baptist Church in Grandview, TN.
