Dr. Ernest Newton Oyler Sr.

Dr. Ernest N Oyler DMD FAGD MAGD began his eternal life November 10, 2025. Ernest was born March 16, 1932 in Lafayette Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 1954. He served his country as 1st Lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean War and returned home in 1957. He began his professional Career as a pharmaceutical rep for Upjohn Pharmaceutical company before making the decision of becoming a dentist. He attended the University of Louisville Dental School and graduated in 1963. He started his first dental practice in Tampa Florida practicing there 11 years then relocated his family to Cleveland Tennessee, December 1974. His practice is still open and managed by his son, Dr. Ernest N Oyler Jr. as Cleveland Dental.

In 1964 he committed his life to Jesus Christ. He and his family made numerous mission trips to Haiti and Central America to share his God-given gifts of compassion for his fellow man and dentistry. He and his son started a free dental clinic outreach for the members of Bradley County, that would lay the groundwork for which would become Karis. He was active in organized dentistry and earned both his Fellowship degree (1985) and Mastership in the Academy of General dentistry(1995).

He has experienced God's amazing grace and deliverance from many dangers and physical healing in Jesus's name

He is proceeded in death by his wife of 54 years Priscilla Lee Pugh (2012). Surviving him are his current wife Alice Terry-Oyler, his daughter Stephanie McCrary, her son's Dallas and Leighton McCrary son Dr Ernie Jr, his wife, Dr. Maricela Rodriguez, their son's Sebastian and Adrian Oyler.

He was an active member of Westwood Baptist Church where services will be held in honor of his life Saturday, November 22, 2025. Visitation 12 to 2 PM service to follow.
