Eric Steven Hayes, age 47, passed away on January 16, 2025. He was a talented mechanic known for his hands-on expertise and a generous heart. Eric had a deep love for cooking and could often be found in the kitchen, preparing meals for friends and family. He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Bubba, who was always by his side.

Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Melba Juanita Hayes; his father, Allen Hayes; and his niece, Tonya Smith. He is survived by his brother, Michael Smith; sister, Jamie Williams; niece, Misty Cartwright; nephew, Lamar Smith,Christopher Cartwright, Michael Smith; and aunts, Janith Blackwell and Vivian Prather.

He will be remembered for his kind spirit, strong work ethic, and the way he could light up a room with his humor and warmth. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
