Elizabeth "Liz" Hannah Jackson

June 27, 1956 — August 10, 2019

Elizabeth “Liz” Hannah Jackson, 63, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Cleveland, TN on June 27, 1956 a daughter of the late Glen & Nona Hannah. Liz was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and Mimi that loved her family dearly. She was well known for her passion on the basketball court, dancing and being the “Life of the Party”. Liz was a teacher in the Bradley County School System for 35 years where she impacted countless lives. She was the first female to sign a basketball scholarship with Cleveland State Community College. Liz was 3 time all state player for Jim Smiddy, played at MTSU and 2 time all OVC player.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister Melba Sue Rice and two brothers John “Pete” Hannah and Jerry Leon Hannah.

Liz leaves behind to cherish her memory by her loving and devoted husband of 37 years Turner Jackson, two daughters Brittany Elizabeth Jackson of Cleveland and Lindsey Nicole Shipley of Murfreesboro, four grandchildren Cash Shipley, Kylin Shipley, Cade Shipley and Ayden Haynesworth, four sisters Geneva Turner, Glenda Clayton (Tom), Rita Hannah, Renada Skelton all of Cleveland, three brothers Glenn Jr. Hannah of Cleveland, Ron Hannah (Brenda) of Knoxville and Steve Hannah (Wanda) of Athens. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other extended family members that loved her dearly.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, August 13, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church located at 1275 Stuart Road in Cleveland, TN. A Remembrance of Life Service will follow the visitation time at 7:00 PM with Jeff Lovingood, Heath Eslinger and Debbie Westfield officiating.

The interment and committal service will take place on Wednesday morning, August 14, 2019 at 12:00 PM in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Derrick Hannah, Matt Clayton, Jon Brogdon, Steve Logsdon, Ben Smith, Travis Adams, Phillip Benton and Kent Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers with be the members of Liz’s senior basketball team the Tennessee Flash. The funeral procession will leave First Baptist Church at 11:30 AM on Wednesday morning,
