Edward Lewis Parris, 85, was called home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1939 to the late Calvin Louis and Anna Lou McCleary Parris.
Edward was a graduate of College Hill High School in Cleveland, Tennessee. At an early age, Edward confessed his faith in Christ, and joined Mt. Eagle Baptist Church in Charleston, Tennessee, and was a faithful member until his passing.
In addition to his parents, Edward is preceded in death by his second wife, Elaine Bowerman Parris, his son through his union with his first wife, Audrey Jeanette Moore, Christopher Edward Parris, and infant daughter, Channette Parris, stepdaughter, Yvette Moore, his sister, Phyllis Ann Leonard, and brother in law, Felton Leonard.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Connie (Keith) Crenshaw, stepchildren, Tammy, Cathy, Stephanie, and Avis (Francis) Moore, grandchildren, Brandon Crenshaw, Channette (Dontavious) Parris/Walker, Kyora Kyle, Chrisma Taylor, 8 great-grandchildren, siblings, James (Linda) Parris, Sharon (Wayne) Jarrett, uncle, Sherman McCleary, nephews, Anthony (Terri) Murphy, Ronnie (Julia) Murphy, Brent (Monica) Parris, Kregory Jarrett, nieces, Valerie (Michael) Reese, Bonnie (Edwin) Buchanan, Shauna (Bryan) Samuel, and a host of cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 1:00pm at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church in Charleston, Tennessee, with Pastor Edward Robinson Jr officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00pm -1:00pm prior to the service.
A graveside service is to follow at Hiwassee Memorial Gardens, with Michael Dodd, Aaron Goode, Sam Goode, Kregory Jarrett, Anthony Murphy, and Bryan Samuel as pallbearers, and Willie Lee Brice, Ivan Jackson. Wayne Jarrett, Avis Moore, Uncle Sherman McCleary, James Parris, and Ira Paulk as honorary pallbearers.
