Edward "Ed" Lee Johnson, 82, passed away on July 29, 2025. He was born to the late Helen Dawson Johnson Fox and Edmond Johnson on November 14, 1942 in McMinn County, Tennessee.
Ed was a United States Letter Carrier for 30 years. He loved to garden, especially blueberries, and to share them with his family, friends, and community. Edward was a member of Tasso United Methodist Church. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
In addition to his parents, Edward is preceded in death by his sister, Ernestine Fincher.
Ed is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gretna R. Johnson, daughters, Kimberly J. (Travis) Herron, Karen (Jason) Mull, Carol (Randy) Zemlicka, grandchildren, Owen and Ryan Herron, Daniel, Olivia, and Corp. Allyson Jones, Spenser and Katelyn Mull, Jerry, Michele, and Tonya Cronier, and Jessica and Robert Zemlicka.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, August 4th, 2025 at 2:00 pm, at Companion Funeral Home- Cleveland Chapel, with Rev. Guinn Green officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
