Edith Inafaye Long of Conasauga Tennessee, a true prayer warrior, left this earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning July 23rd, 2026. She was born in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, April 18th, 1947 to Roy and Carrie Mae Harrison. Both of her parents gave her the gift of hard work and a love for gardening, but it was the daddy she adored that gave her the gift of freckles and red hair.

She was blessed to leave this world still living at home while being held by her loving husband of 61 years, Earnest Long.

Edith was preceded in death by her younger sister, Arlene Morgan. She is survived by her baby sister, Mildred Walker (Isaac), her four children, listed in birth order not by favorites, William Long (Sherrie), George Long (Amanda), Patricia Martin (Kenny) and Renee Long.

The grandchildren who called her Nanny, Johnathan Martin, Marcus Long, Lindsey DeBusk, Bryce Martin, Patrick Long, Samuel Long, Aubrey Long, and great grandchildren Josalynn Martin, Julianna Martin, Waylon Long and Eliana Long. Edith was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and prayed for them daily.

Everyone who knew and loved Edith will appreciate that her last wishes will be honored and in her very matter-of-fact way she clearly stated that those who did not call or visit her would not have time to attend a funeral. There will be no end-of-life service as she now has eternal life.

Edith loved flowers but in lieu of flowers hear Edith's words of wisdom: Spend more time with your family.

You are encouragofd to share a memory of Edith and/or your personal condolences with her family by visiting her memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companonfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist her family with these arrangements.
