Edith M. Barbee

Edith M. Barbee 78, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026. Edith was born on March 26, 1948 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Martha and James Howard. Edith was a dedicated member of Chatsworth Church of God as well as Christian Outreach

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles Barbee; and her brothers, James, Floyd, Kenny, Steve, Anthony, Ralph, and Greg Howard.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Gloria Miller, Susan Barbee (Rusty), and Charlie (Tammy) Barbee; her sister, Janice (Clyde) Hixson; grandchildren, Christy (Matt) Haire, Bryan Miller, Justin (Miranda) Miller, Nathan (Allyson) Barbee, and Shay (Ryan) Hollingsworth; her great grandchildren, Haley, Paydon, Gavin, Adrain, Caden, Nevaeh, TJ, Dakota, Michael, Marcus, Mackenzie, Emmerson, and Finley; and her great great grandchild, Percey; along with George Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stacey at Home Health as well as Scott, Jane, and Deb at Hearth Hospice.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 7:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary with Pastor Sieglinda Sherrill, Justin Miller, and Clyde Hixson officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm prior to the service.
